Mise-en-scene

Actor placement/movement/expression- scary hallway, terrified,  gothic atmoshere and there is a change in the atmosphere between the hallway to houses this suggest that they are running from someone.

setting- gothic ,scary, horror, and at the start of the film its showing that the hallway has flashing lights this suggest that the film is gothic.

props-house ,room ,hats they have a switch in their outfits that  suggests that the film is in the 80's.

1) Watch the extract again. Try and write an analysis of the other aspects of mise-en-scene. Work through all the aspects of CLAMPS (the mnemonic we use to remember mise-en-scene).

1a) I could describe that its gothic because of the flashing lights and the kids were wearing 80's to represent that the scene  was set in the 80's

2)Read this excellent article on the 1980s references in Stranger Things. Which of these links specifically to mise-en-scene?

2a) It links to the Mise-en-scene because it links to gothic  and the placement is is in a terrifying hallway which has flashing lights.

D: What i can see in this poster is that the boy looks sad and quite upset because the quote suggests "Dig toilets not graves. It looks like he is unhappy that there is no toilets.

C:This poster suggest "Dig toilets not graves" and the connotation of the colour suggest depressed, unhappy and  homeless and will provide a negative experience for the audience. The colours are sad and dark in the background it creates connotations of a sad/unhappy poster.

A: This poster helps the audience understand that they need to dig more toilets instead of graves in addition, The quote across the top of the poster (referring to "Dig toilets not graves") this quote uses grief to connect with the audience and suggest that they need more toilets.
